TransMentors International, Inc. (TMII, affectionately pronounced "Timmy") is now spanning over 30 countries, with the United States, of course, reaching the majority of our trans-identified community. TMII is an all volunteer, non-profit organization which provides aid, support and assistance to Trans-identified individuals. This support includes mentoring (online, phone and in-person), temporary safe housing assistance, education and advocacy, and faith-based support, and any other day-to-day support needed that comes our way.
We receive emails and phone calls from trans men, women and youth from many faith backgrounds asking for help, education, and sometimes just a "caring shoulder to lean on spiritually", so to speak.
We are looking for Faith Leaders who are willing to voluntarily provide either email or telephone spiritual support to trans-identified individuals who request help. We would like to build a referral list so we might send these individuals to someone from similar faith backgrounds. Whether clergy or lay persons, we need you!
Let us know if you are willing to volunteer your time now and again to our community through TransMentors International. There's a small informal application below you can download so we know a little about you.
Supporting someone would simply entail you responding to an email we send to you with contact details of those who request support, and your willingness to contact them within a reasonable time frame that works with your schedule. We know we are all busy, and we all have lives. We understand completely if your plate is too full to take on anything extra right now.
Thank you for considering this request. We appreciate each and every one of you who are helping those in our community, and hope to see a positive reply from some of you.
